PlayMoreGolf + Quick9 User Guide

How to use the PlayMoreGolf integration with Quick9.

What is Quick9?

Quick9 is a golf app designed to help golf groups, societies, and larger communities easily organise, find, and join games. Used by players worldwide, Quick9 simplifies the process of socialising games and managing player sign-ups, making it easier than ever to get a game together.

Quick9 was founded with a simple goal: to help golfers spend more time on the course paying social golf—a mission we fully support at PlayMoreGolf!

What does the Quick9 integration offer PMG users?

PlayMoreGolf (PMG) has partnered with Quick9 to make it easier for PMG members to find and join more games—both at their home club and across the wider PMG network.

Through this partnership, we’ve built an integration with Quick9, giving PMG members exclusive access to a PMG Quick9 Group. This group serves as a hub where members can:

Share spare tee time slots from their own bookings.

Discover available games at their home club and other PMG courses.

Join social rounds with fellow PMG members and expand their golf network.

This integration means that any available slots in your tee bookings can be easily shared—without any extra effort—helping more PMG members find a game, play more often, and enjoy a more social golf experience.

How to Get Started with Quick9

Getting started with Quick9 is quick and easy. Follow these simple steps to set up your account and start finding more games:

  1. Open the Quick9 Invitation Email
      • On your mobile device, open the email that you received from PlayMoreGolf announcing the Quick9 integration. It is important that you do this on the mobile device on which you plan to use Quick9.
  1. Tap the Unique Download Link
      • Click on the Quick9 download link provided in your email.
        • Important: This link is unique to you and will automatically log you into Quick9. Do not share it with anyone else.

We recommend signing up using the unique download link for a seamless experience. If you download Quick9 directly from the app store, be sure to sign in with your email—and make sure it matches the one you use for PlayMoreGolf.

  1. Install Quick9
      • Once you tap the unique download link, you’ll be redirected to the App Store. Simply install the Quick9 app.
  1. Automatic Login & Profile Setup
      • Open Quick9 once installed.
      • If you downloaded the app via the unique link (recommended), then you will be automatically logged in.
      • Update your profile details, including your name and handicap.
  1. One-Time PMG Login for Game Bookings
      • When you first join a game in Quick9, you’ll be prompted to log in to your PlayMoreGolf account.
      • This is a one-time login—once completed, you’ll be able to manage PMG bookings seamlessly through Quick9 without needing to log in again.

How it Works in PlayMoreGolf

Adding a tee booking to Quick9

To send a tee booking and available slots to Quick9, follow the usual tee booking process:

  1. Select the course you wish to play at
  1. Select the number of players
  1. Select the date on which you wish to play
  1. Select your preferred tee time

On the confirmation and booking screen, you’ll see a new option at the bottom:

You can also tap the “+” button in Quick9 to access a link that takes you directly to game creation in PlayMoreGolf.

How it works

  • Enabling the toggle: When you select “Book Round”, the game will be created in Quick9, and any available slots will be advertised for PMG members to join.
Image 3
Image 3
Image 4
Image 4
  • Not enabling the toggle: The game will not be sent to Quick9.

Example

If you book a 10:00 AM tee time on Monday, March 10, 2025, and enable the toggle, Quick9 will create a game at the same time, date, and location, showing any open slots for PMG users to join.

Who can see the game in Quick9?

If you choose to send a game to Quick9 then that game (and available slots) will be notified to other PMG users who:

  1. Are active users of the Quick9 PMG group, and
  1. Have set their distance filters to include the relevant club/course.

Buddies and Guests

If you’re booking a round with buddies, guests, or both, you can still send the game (and available slots) to Quick9.

If your buddies have Quick9 user profiles, they will appear as named joiners in the game. If they don’t have Quick9 profiles, they will be listed as “Unknown PMG Member”. Guests will be shown as “Guest” in Quick9.

Cancelling a tee booking in PMG and Quick9

Tee bookings can be cancelled in the normal way.

  1. Go to My Bookings
  1. Open the booking you want to cancel
  1. Select “Cancel Booking” in the summary screen.
Image 5
Image 5

How cancellation affects Quick9

The effect of the cancellation on the game in Quick9 will depend on whether any other players have joined the tee time from Quick9:

  1. No one joined via Quick9 or PMG - The game is completely removed from Quick9.
  1. Others joiners via Quick9 - You (and any Buddies/Guests you added) will be removed from the game in Quick9, but other joiners will remain in the game.

How it Works in Quick9

The PMG Group

All PMG users are automatically added to the PMG Quick9 Group, which is exclusively for PMG members and where playing opportunities are shared.

This group is fully integrated with the main PMG system, allowing tee bookings to be seamlessly shared to Quick9 without any manual effort from users.

PMG Distance Filter

The PMG Quick9 Group is open to all UK members of PlayMoreGolf, meaning there will be a large number of members and games available. To ensure you only see relevant games and receive notifications that matter to you, we recommend setting your preferred distance filter.

What is the PMG Distance Filter?

The distance filter lets you specify a radius from your home club, ensuring you only receive notifications about games at PMG courses within this area. Games outside your selected radius will not appear in your feed or trigger notifications.

  • By default, the filter is set to 25 miles.
  • You can increase or decrease this radius to suit your preferences.

How to Change Your PMG Distance Filter

  1. Go to the Profile section.
  1. Select your profile and tap Edit on the My Profile screen.
  1. Adjust the distance filter radius using the slider.
  1. Tap Save once you’re happy with the new setting.

You’ll also see a message in the Game List confirming that a distance filter is applied. Tap Edit from this message to quickly access the filter settings.

Disabling the PMG Distance Filter

If you wish to disable the distance filter, follow these steps:

  1. Go to My Profile.
  1. Deactivate the distance filter toggle.

Image 10
Image 10

Important: Disabling the filter means you’ll see all games posted in the PMG Quick9 Group, regardless of location, and receive notifications for every new game across the UK. We strongly recommend keeping a distance filter active to avoid receiving notifications for games outside your preferred area. Adjusting the filter ensures a more personalised experience while keeping your game feed relevant.

Quick9 Notifications

Quick9 sends notifications (both in-app and push notification) about games added to the PMG Quick9 Group. However, you’ll only receive notifications for games happening at clubs or courses within your selected distance radius.

Managing Notifications

  • When you first log in to Quick9, you’ll be asked if you want to enable notifications.
  • You can turn notifications on or off anytime from the Profile section.
  • Simply toggle the Notifications setting to enable or disable alerts as needed.
  • You will then need to disable the notifications in your devices settings.

If You Were the Original Booker

  • If you originally booked the tee time, withdrawing from the game in Quick9 will also remove any buddies or guests you included in the booking.
  • Any players who joined via Quick9 will remain in the game (as these are classed as separate bookings).

If You Were Added as a Buddy by the Original Booker

  • If the original booker added you as a buddy when booking the tee time in the PMG system, you cannot withdraw yourself from Quick9.
  • You’ll need to ask the original booker to withdraw/cancel the tee booking and re-book without you.
